Hundreds of tourists enjoy the benefits of walking around the island of Santorini. There are at least two paths you should follow and let the allure of Santorini  to captivate your senses.

Hiking path Fira - Oia

A famous hike is the walk from Fira to Santorini. The walk can be done in 3-4 hours and brings you along the rim of the Caldera. Following the road is an alternative as a cyclist.

Park your car in the public parking station in Fira close by the cable car and walk up to the cable car station. This is where you start walking along the Caldera to Oia.Maybe one of the most famous walking paths in the world.

Hiking path Perissa - Ancient Thira

The route is about 2.5 km, and takes to complete from 40 minutes to an hour and a half depending on the stops that are made to rest and take photos. It is important to wear sunglasses, hat, sneakers, sunscreen and water. The path to Ancient Thira is an old road, which takes the traveler on the slopes of Profitis Elias and Vouno Mesa. After starting, after a few minutes walking you will meet the path to Katefiani small church on your right that you can have a sort visit for a few photos.

Just before arriving at the top you will find the area where the cremation burials were found in the archaic period. Once you are at the top take a right to get to the entrance of the archaeological site. DON’T FORGET THAT ON MONDAYS IS CLOSE.
